The Sun is the newspaper for Sheridan, Oregon, United States. The paper is published once per week on Wednesdays. Coverage of The Sun is the West Valley communities of Sheridan, Willamina, and Grand Ronde in the Yamhill Valley of Yamhill and Polk counties.[1]
Sheridan’s newspaper started in 1890,[2] and was a weekly newspaper.[3] In 1908, O. D. Hamstreet purchased the newspaper after moving from Sheridan, Wyoming, where he had been editor of the Sheridan Enterprise.[4] The owner and editor of the paper in 2007 was George Robertson. As of 2009, it has a circulation of just over 1,200 copies with Clinton Vining as editor and publisher, with ownership by Clinton Vining Company LLC.[2]
